An Official Yoshukai uniform (gi – hard “g”) is required for all students.
Higher quality gi’s are available to purchase as students progress. If you desire a higher quality gi (heavy weight gi or competition gi) please talk to the Sensei.
WYKKO Sparring Gear:
$165 – $210
We offer all of the required sparring gear to you at our cost. Please do not purchase sparring gear without discussing the requirements with a senior instructor. However, you are able to purchase similar equipment on your own, if you so desire, but it must meet the minimum requirements for the dojo.
Students do not start sparring until the Sensei (and parents) thinks that they are ready.
Sparring gear is required if the student will participate in class sparring or competition sparring.
We do not *require* that a student participate in class sparring events, but we do highly recommend it if the student is interested in self-defense or building self-confidence.
Kobudo Weapons:
$20 and higher
Weapons (below black belt) range from $20 to $150, depending on the weapon and the quality.
Students will start weapon training (nunchakus, bo, sai) at yellow belt. Basic weapons will be provided for class use as the students progress in rank.
If you desire to purchase weapons to practice, lose your weapons, break your weapons, or wish fancier weapons for competitions, you may talk to the Sensei about those purchases. Please do not purchase weapons on your own without discussing with the senior instructors.

We are in the South and it gets hot (even inside the dojo!) during the summer months and periodically we will have “t-shirt nights” where students are able to wear their “Auburn karate t-shirts” with their belt and gi pants.
